Stephanie Mota Thurston’s research interests include social ethics, religion and politics, political theory, and political theology, with a particular focus on moral political questions such as school segregation, policing, prisons, migration, and borders. She received a B.A. in Religious Studies and Politics/International Relations from Scripps College, an M.A.R. in Ethics from Yale University’s Divinity School, and completed her Ph.D. in the Religion and Society program at Princeton Theological Seminary. Currently, she is working on projects that address schools, including a forthcoming book titled 'Complicity and Moral Responsibility: Case Studies in School Segregation.' Additionally, she serves on the Advisory Committee for the Education Justice Project, which is a college-in-prison program at the University of Illinois.
