Biography

Stephen Bates received his degree from the Royal College of Art in London in 1989. He has worked in both London and Barcelona, where he co-founded Sergison Bates Architects with Jonathan Sergison in 1996. The practice has gained international acclaim, being awarded the Heinrich Tessenow Gold Medal for Architecture and the Erich Schelling Medal for Architecture in 2006. His projects have been recognized with several prestigious awards, reflecting his influence and dedication to architectural innovation.
