Biography

Stephen Beers graduated from the University of Southampton in 1999 with a first-class degree in Biochemistry. He subsequently awarded a personal PhD studentship by the BBSRC, graduating in 2003. After completing his studies, he moved to the Cancer Sciences Division (CSD) of the Faculty of Medicine and undertook his first postdoctoral fellowship in Immunochemistry and Immunotherapy. Through successful postdoctoral positions, he was awarded a career track fellowship, allowing him to establish his own research group focused on studying antibody effector function. His research group interests include monoclonal antibodies and their impact on tumor regression, along with the tumor microenvironment and its effect on antibody efficacy in patients. With various active research projects and a passion for understanding immunotherapy, Stephen has contributed to the field of Immunology & Immunotherapy significantly and continues to mentor PhD students and lecture on related subjects.
