Biography

Stephen P. Boyd is the Samsung Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University and a member of the Institute for Computational and Mathematical Engineering. His research focus includes applications of convex optimization in control, signal processing, machine learning, and finance. Boyd received his AB degree in Mathematics, summa cum laude, from Harvard University in 1980 and his PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley in 1985.
