Dr. Stephen Crawford

Biography

Stephen Crawford is a Professor in the Department of Integrative Biology at the University of Guelph. With a comprehensive academic background that includes a B.Sc. in Marine Biology from the University of Guelph, an M.Sc. in Animal Behaviour from Queen's University, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Embryology from the University of Guelph, he has devoted his career to fish ecology and environmental science. His early work focused on Great Lakes fish ecology, leading to significant projects assessing impacts on fish populations due to ecological factors and human interventions. He has held various positions within academia and has collaborated with Indigenous communities, focusing on the integration of Indigenous knowledge systems into environmental and resource management practices. His research interests include ecological assessments, fish population dynamics, and the intersection of Indigenous and Western scientific knowledge in environmental resource management.
