Biography

Stephen R. Deputy, M.D., is a board-certified pediatric neurologist at UT Health Austin Pediatric Neurosciences and Dell Children’s. He specializes in caring for children with neurological disorders. Deputy earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and completed a residency in pediatric neurology at the University of California, San Francisco. He previously served as the clerkship director for neurology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where he practiced for 24 years. His clinical research interests center on disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system, with a special focus on pediatric movement disorders. Deputy enjoys teaching medical students, neurology residents, and pediatrics residents in child neurology regarding basic neurosciences, neuroanatomy, and clinical pediatric neurology. He also serves as a section editor for Pediatric Neurology.
