Biography

Stephen Estime is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care at the University of Chicago. He completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Chicago followed by a critical care fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA. He practices as both an Anesthesiologist in the operating room and a Critical Care Physician in the Trauma-Surgical Intensive Care Unit. His academic interests focus on quality improvement and patient safety, particularly in relation to emergency airway management for critically ill patients, as well as health equity aimed at reducing healthcare disparities. In addition, he serves as the Director of Diversity & Inclusion in the Graduate Medical Education office, leading efforts in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within the Department of Anesthesia.
