Dr. Stephen Harris

Biography

Stephen E. Harris is the Kenneth Barbara Oshman Professor at Stanford University's School of Engineering and an Emeritus Professor of Applied Physics. He has made significant contributions to the fields of lasers, quantum electronics, atomic physics, and nonlinear optics. His extensive research has influenced many areas of optical science and engineering. Over the years, Harris has held various appointments in the university and has been recognized for his outstanding work in the field. He is a member of prestigious organizations including the National Academy of Engineering, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the National Academy of Sciences. His academic journey culminated in a Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1963.
