Biography

Stephen Kosempel joined the Department of Economics and Finance at the University of Guelph in 1999. He received his B.A. (Honours) in Economics from Queen's University in 1993, his M.A. in Economics from the University of Victoria in 1995, and his Ph.D. in Economics from Simon Fraser University in 1999. Kosempel served as Department Chair from January 2012 to June 2022. His research specialization is in macroeconomics, with published works in journals such as the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Canadian Journal of Economics, Review of International Economics, and Journal of Development Economics. Kosempel's research interests include Macroeconomics, Economic Development and Growth, and Business Cycles.
