Biography

Stephen Kraft is a Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Toronto. He holds an MD and FRCS(C) from the same institution, having completed his medical degree in 1978 and his fellowship in 1982. Dr. Kraft has published extensively, with over 85 peer-reviewed papers and 29 book chapters. His research primarily focuses on strabismus, amblyopia, binocular vision, and various neurologic disorders. He is well-known for his pioneering work in the application of botulinum toxin to treat eye-related conditions, being one of the first physicians in Ontario to utilize this treatment since 1985. Dr. Kraft has presented over 230 times at various meetings across Canada, the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and Asia, and has held 29 visiting professorships globally. He teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students and has been recognized with various awards for his contributions to medical education and surgical teaching. Additionally, he has received honors from prestigious associations including the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
