Biography

Stephen Lord is a Scientia Professor at the University of New South Wales and a Senior Principal Research Fellow at Neuroscience Research Australia, Sydney, Australia. He has published over 600 papers in the areas of instability, falls, fractures, and balance impairment in older populations and clinical groups. His research primarily focuses on the identification of neuropsychological and sensorimotor risk factors associated with falls, as well as the development and evaluation of fall prevention strategies. His studies particularly address fall risk in individuals with stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, as well as cognitive impairments. He is actively engaged in initiatives aimed at implementing evidence-based fall prevention policies and practices.
