Stephen McNeil is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Calgary. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph in 1994 and earned his medical degree from McMaster University in 1997. Following this, he completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at McMaster University in 2002. Dr. McNeil has been practicing in Calgary since 2002, with a clinical focus on stroke rehabilitation, spasticity management, neuromuscular rehabilitation, and electromyography. He currently serves as the medical director of stroke rehabilitation and spasticity programs at Foothills Hospital. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. McNeil is actively involved in teaching at both undergraduate and residency levels. He has been an invited speaker at national meetings and holds significant roles, such as being a member of the Residency Training Committee for the national neurophysiology (EMG) exam committee and serving as the scientific chair for the Canadian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation's national meeting in 2009.
