Biography

Stephen Miller received his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the University of Chicago. He has been teaching at Texas A&M University since 1978. His research interests encompass Late Modern Contemporary Narrative, Illustrated Narrative, and Art Essay. He completed a doctoral thesis focused on literary criticism theory, specifically a methodological study in critical pluralism applied to Racine, utilizing various critical methods including Socio-Marxist and Psychoanalytic approaches. Miller has specialized in Hispanic literatures from the nineteenth century to the contemporary period. He is the author of several works including 'El mundo de Galdós', 'Del realismo/naturalismo al modernismo', and 'Galdós gráfico'. His book project involves the editing and introduction of five known Galdosian sketchbooks published in facsimile volumes. Additionally, he has co-edited critical studies on various authors and guest edited multiple journal issues dedicated to significant topics in contemporary Spanish literature.
