Dr. Stephen Morgan

Biography

Stephen Morgan is a Bloomberg Distinguished Professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Education. He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Harvard University in 2000, an M.Phil. in Comparative Social Research from Oxford University in 1995, and a B.A. in Sociology from Harvard University in 1993. He began his academic career at Cornell University in the Department of Sociology, where he served as an Assistant Professor from 2000 to 2014 and later became the Jan Rock Zubrow ’77 Professor of Social Sciences. His research interests focus primarily on education, demography, public opinion, causal inference, and survey methodology. He has been involved in significant projects such as the General Social Survey and has contributed to various published articles and books in his fields of expertise.
