Biography

Stephen Page is an Associate Professor at the Butler School of Music, University of Texas at Austin, where he has gained international prominence as a leading saxophonist and composer. An acclaimed performer, Page has appeared on four continents and collaborated with prominent conductors such as Fredrick Fennell and Gary Green. His interpretations of classic saxophone works, as well as innovative arrangements of violin repertoire by composers including Brahms and Bach, have earned him significant recognition. He has commissioned new works from notable contemporary composers and won numerous prizes in prestigious competitions, including the North American Saxophone Alliance Solo Competition and the Music Teachers National Association Chamber Music Competition. As a member of the Zzyzx Quartet, Page continues to push the boundaries of saxophone repertoire and recently released a recording titled 'Intersections', featuring original and new works. In addition to his performance career, he is dedicated to teaching, guiding the next generation of saxophonists at the Butler School of Music.
