Stephen Raiman is an Assistant Professor in Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences at the University of Michigan. He obtained his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering with a concentration in materials from the University of Michigan in 2016, and holds a B.S. in Physics from the University at Buffalo. Before joining the University of Michigan, he spent four years as a staff researcher in the Materials Science Technology Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. His research interests focus on understanding the corrosion degradation of materials in extreme environments, including high-temperature corrosion, irradiation assisted stress corrosion cracking, and materials compatibility with molten salts. Raiman directs the High-Temperature Corrosion Laboratory and the Irradiated Materials Testing Laboratory, and is the Charles Elizabeth Schrock Faculty Development Professor.
