Stephen Robbins is currently the Scientific Director of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research Institute of Cancer Research. He is also the Co-Chair of the Canadian Cancer Research Alliance, representing 30 major cancer research funders in Canada. He has held the Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Molecular Genetics and Cancer for 10 years and served as Director of the Southern Alberta Cancer Research Institute and Associate Director of Research for Alberta Health Services Cancer Care. His research focuses on understanding biochemical circuits that control cellular proliferation and differentiation, particularly how these pathways malfunction in cancer. Notably, Robbins's lab investigates the role of extracellular signals in cellular responses, with aims to identify therapeutic targets for brain tumors and the mechanisms behind cell signaling.
