Biography

Stephen Ryan completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biochemistry in 1994 and obtained his PhD in Biochemistry in 2000 from the University of Ottawa. He graduated from the University of Calgary Medical School in 2003 and returned to the University of Ottawa to complete his residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at the Ottawa Hospital in 2008. Following this, he pursued a one-year fellowship in Interventional Radiology, joining the Department of Medical Imaging at the Ottawa Hospital in 2009. Currently, Professor Ryan serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa and the Director of the Interventional Radiology Fellowship Program. His specialty lies in Vascular Interventional Radiology, with clinical interests in arterial venous interventions, vascular access, and interventional oncology.
