Biography

Stephen Schiestel is the Frederick S. Addy Professor of Practice in Finance at the Broad College of Business, Michigan State University. He received his MBA in 1998 from Michigan State University and a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Michigan-Flint in 1991. Schiestel teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Security Analysis, Financial Planning, Wealth Management, and Corporate Finance. He is the director of the College's Financial Planning and Wealth Management programs, which includes a Master's degree minor. Stephen has been recognized for his teaching excellence with several awards, including the Executive MBA Professor Excellence Award and the John D. Dortha J. Withrow Distinguished Teaching Award. Before joining Michigan State, he held management positions in the Wealth Management Division at Citizens Bank and Huntington Bank. Schiestel's research interests encompass Behavioral Finance, Financial Investments, and Mutual Funds & Hedge Funds.
