Dr. Stephen Vaisey

Biography

Stephen Vaisey is a professor in the Department of Sociology at Duke University, where he has been a faculty member since 2016. Over the years, he has taken on various roles including Director of Graduate Studies and Co-Director of the Worldview Lab at the Kenan Institute for Ethics. His research focuses on understanding moral and political beliefs, driving projects like the Measuring Morality project that examines how concepts of morality influence political life. Vaisey utilizes advanced statistical methods in his work, including observational data and panel methodology, and he has applied multilevel modeling to analyze data in meaningful ways. His contributions to the academic community extend beyond sociology as he holds a position in the Department of Political Science and serves as a Faculty Research Scholar at the Duke Population Research Institute.
