Professor Dr. Stephen Yeazell

Biography

Stephen Yeazell is the David G. Price Dallas P. Price Distinguished Professor of Law Emeritus at UCLA School of Law. A member of the UCLA Law faculty since 1975, he specializes in the history and theory of modern civil litigation. Professor Yeazell has authored several influential books and articles on civil procedures, including 'Medieval Group Litigation and Modern Class Action' and 'Lawsuits in a Market Economy'. He has received numerous accolades for his teaching and research, including the University's Distinguished Teaching Award and the UCLA Faculty Research Lectureship. His work has examined significant issues in civil litigation, providing critical insights into statistics, jury selection, and judicial processes. He has also held leadership positions in the UCLA Academic Senate and served as Associate Dean and Interim Dean of the School of Law. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Yeazell has clerked for Justice Mathew Tobriner of the California Supreme Court, further enriching his understanding and perspective on legal education and practice.
