Biography

Stephon H. Alexander is a theoretical physicist specializing in cosmology, particle physics, and quantum gravity, particularly in String Theory and Loop Quantum Gravity. He obtained his BSc in 1993 from Haverford College and a PhD in physics from Brown University in 2000. Alexander has held postdoctoral research fellowships at the Imperial College in London and the Stanford University Linear Accelerator Center. His academic career includes faculty positions at Penn State University, Haverford College, and Dartmouth College. In addition to his research, he explores the connections between music, physics, mathematics, and technology through recordings, performances, and public lectures. Alexander's research group aims to address lingering issues in the standard model of particle interactions and Einstein's theory of General Relativity. They utilize a diverse array of theoretical, computational, and conceptual tools, including machine learning, to seek a completion of these fundamental theories.
