My research program focuses on bacterial infections resistant to antibiotics and alternative solutions. We use an amoeba as a model host to better understand the mechanisms of virulence and the interactions between bacteria and protozoa, which could promote the persistence and spread of pathogens. In parallel, we develop phage-based approaches, particularly against animal health-relevant pathogens. Our team thus explores both virulence factors, microbial ecology, and innovative strategies to reduce antibiotic use.
