Biography

Steve Moss is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow with a Ph.D. in Sedimentology and Basin Analysis from the University of Durham, U.K., where his research focused on burial diagenesis and organic maturation. His academic career includes significant post-doctoral research with the Royal Holloway, where he was involved in industry-funded projects in Southeast Asia. Moss has lectured on topics in Sedimentology and Petroleum Geology at Curtin University's School of Applied Geology. Since joining the petroleum industry in 1997, he has worked with various companies including Santos, Apache, Woodside Energy Ltd, and ENI Australia, contributing to numerous exploration and development projects across a range of geological basins in Australia and internationally. His extensive drilling experience includes involvement in 65 exploration wells and the discovery of multiple oil and gas fields. Moss has published thirty articles in reputable journals and has been an editor for several symposium volumes regarding West Australian basins. His work contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals focused on education and industry practices.
