Biography

Steve Taylor is a senior research engineer at the University of Southampton, UK. He received his PhD in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from the University of Greenwich in 1997 and has published over 40 academic papers. His research interests include risk management, cybersecurity, trust, and computational governance and regulation. Taylor has been a principal investigator on several projects, including the H2020 ProTego project, which focused on dynamic cyber security risk modeling in the healthcare sector, and the H2020 FogProtect project, which is aimed at risk modeling for end-to-end protection of data in fog computing environments. He has made significant contributions to the University of Southampton's "Social Data Foundation" concept, aimed at providing Trusted Research Environments that link health and social care data to enable research optimizing joined care pathways in local community medical sectors, focusing on governance and audit aspects. Taylor is also a member of the NESSI (Networked European Software Services Initiative) Steering Committee.
