Biography

Steven Bernstein is a Distinguished Professor and Chair at the University of Toronto Mississauga, serving as Acting Graduate Chair from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. His research focuses on global environmental sustainability governance and political science, particularly in the areas of global governance institutions, environmental politics, and international political economy. He serves as the Co-Director of the Environmental Governance Lab within the Department of Political Science. Bernstein holds an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Copenhagen.
