Biography

Dr. Steven Burik is currently an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Singapore Management University. He holds a PhD in Comparative Philosophy from the National University of Singapore. His research interests mainly focus on comparative philosophy, continental philosophy, especially the works of Heidegger and Derrida, as well as Chinese philosophy, particularly Daoism, and Critical Thinking. He is the author of 'End Comparative Philosophy: Task Comparative Thinking' published by SUNY Press and served as editor for 'Comparative Philosophy Method: Contemporary Practices, Future Possibilities,' co-edited with Ralph Weber and Robert Smid, published by Bloomsbury, which brings together leading scholars to discuss the methodology of comparative philosophy. Burik has also co-authored a textbook on Critical Thinking and has published numerous articles in journals and books, including 'Philosophy East and West,' 'Dao: Journal of Comparative Philosophy,' and 'Comparative Continental Philosophy.'
