Biography

Dr. Steven Gilberg is an Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine. He earned his MD in 1984 from the University of Ottawa and completed his residency in Internal Medicine in 1986, followed by a residency in Ophthalmology from 1987 to 1989. He completed a fellowship in Oculoplastics at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Florida from 1990 to 1992 and obtained his FRCSC certification in 1989 and ABO diploma in 1990. He served as Head of the Ottawa Hospital's Department of Ophthalmology from 2008 to 2021. His clinical practice focuses on ophthalmic plastic reconstructive surgery and he has a particular research interest in Oculoplastic Surgery. Dr. Gilberg's significant experience and expertise underscore his dedication to advancing the field of ophthalmology.
