Biography

Steven J. Gold is a professor in the Department of Sociology at Michigan State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley in 1985. His research focuses on international migration, ethnic economies, and community development, employing qualitative field methods and visual sociology. Gold has authored and co-authored numerous books, including 'Israeli Diaspora' and 'Wandering Jews: Global Jewish Migration'.
