Dr. Steven Levitsky

Biography

Steven Levitsky is a Faculty Associate at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and a Senior Scholar at the Harvard Academy. He holds the position of David Rockefeller Professor of Latin American Studies in the Department of Government. Levitsky also serves as the Director of the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies at Harvard University. His academic focus includes analyzing Latin American politics, political parties, party systems, democracy, and the processes of democratization. Levitsky has contributed significantly to the understanding of how political institutions and party systems interact within volatile democracies, particularly in Latin America.
