Biography

Dr. Steven Qi Li is the Dame Kathleen Ollerenshaw Fellow in the High Voltage Group at the University of Manchester. His research interests focus on reliability in solid dielectrics and the optimization of ultra-high voltage and extra-high voltage electricity transmission lines to support future Net-Zero power systems. He is also concerned with the electromagnetic environmental emissions of UHV/EHV transmission lines and the application of artificial intelligence in future power systems. Dr. Li is an active member of CIGRE's working groups B2.69 and B2.83 and serves on the youth committee of the China Electrotechnical Society. He has led 20 research projects in a variety of topics in the power industry, earning the IET Innovation Award in 2015 for his PhD research.
