Biography

Steven Livingstone works with the Doctorate of Clinical Psychology training programme as the Academic Tutor Lead for the Systemic Family Therapy stream. He has a clinical background in working with individuals with serious mental health problems, particularly in the area of psychosis, in both inpatient and community settings. As a Clinical Psychologist and Systemic & Family Psychotherapist, he is a trained Behavioural Family Therapy supervisor practitioner and an Open Dialogue supervisor practitioner. In addition to his role at King's College London, Steven works as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at the East London NHS Foundation Trust, where he leads Psychological Therapies in Tower Hamlets, primarily working with people experiencing complex mental health problems related to psychosis. His research interests include family therapies, interventions for psychosis, population health, teaching in Systemic Family Therapy, and Open Dialogue expertise and public engagement. He is also a member of the British Psychological Society’s Psychosis and Complex Mental Health Faculty Board.
