Biography

Steven Low is the Frank J. Gilloon Professor of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the California Institute of Technology. He obtained his B.S. from Cornell University in 1987, followed by an M.S. from the University of California in 1989, and a Ph.D. in 1992. His academic career at Caltech includes roles as an Associate Professor from 2000 to 2006 and as a Professor from 2006 to 2018 before being appointed as the Gilloon Professor in 2018. His research interests are focused on networking, smart grids, and energy efficiency, particularly in the realms of power systems, cyber-physical systems, network architecture, and energy-efficient networking.
