Biography

Steven Marra is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. He teaches core lecture and laboratory courses within the department, focusing on the undergraduate curriculum, engineering graphics, mechanical design, and biomechanics. Marra has developed various courses and serves as the director of undergraduate studies. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1993, followed by his Master’s and Doctoral degrees from Johns Hopkins University in 1998 and 2001, respectively. Prior to his current role, Marra worked as a postdoctoral lecturer at Dartmouth College and as a practicing engineer in New Hampshire before returning to Baltimore in 2010.
