Dr. Steven Nordin

Biography

Steven Nordin is a Professor of Psychology at Umeå University, specializing in health psychology, medical psychology, and psychosomatics. With a background in neuropsychology and sensory psychology, he conducts research primarily using epidemiological and laboratory methods. His key areas of interest include the role of psychological factors in health impacts from air pollution, environmental hypersensitivities, and mental-somatic ill health. Nordin teaches and supervises both graduate and undergraduate students in health psychology and research methodology. He completed his PhD in Psychology at Stockholm University in 1992 and has previously worked at Karolinska Institute and other notable institutions. He is actively involved in several research groups and projects related to stress, sleep, and environmental health, including student-led initiatives aimed at cost-effective treatment of stress and sleep problems. Furthermore, he is engaged in various committees and groups concerning research ethics and evaluation within the field of psychology.
