Biography

Steven C. Quan, OD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at the University of Chicago. As a residency-trained primary care optometrist, he specializes in the co-management of ocular disease, including optic neuropathies, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy, as well as age-related macular degeneration. His clinical interests also encompass public health, nutrition, neuro-ophthalmology, and ocular toxicity as manifestations of systemic disease. Dr. Quan completed his OD at the Illinois College of Optometry in 2016, having previously earned his BS in Neuroscience from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2012. In 2017, he completed his residency in Ocular Disease at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL. He has contributed to scholarly discussions surrounding optometric practice and has been involved in significant case reports regarding neovascular glaucoma and peripheral retinal ischemia.
