Biography

Steven ten is a Full Professor of Strategy Change at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where he heads a part-time MSc program in Change Management since 2014. He completed his law psychology degree at Utrecht University and holds a master's in business administration from Nyenrode Business University. Steven obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Twente, focusing on strategic change in large international firms like ST Microelectronics and Nokia. As a seasoned change management practitioner, he co-founded TEN Change Management and has held various executive roles, including vice-chairman of the supervisory board at St. Antonius Hospital. His research interests encompass change management, behavioral change, and evidence-based management practices, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal Applied Behavioral Science. Over the years, he has authored nineteen books and numerous articles on leadership, strategy, and governance. Steven is currently supervising several PhD candidates and is involved in various academic and advisory roles. Notably, he received the McGregor Award for his impactful contributions to change management interventions and the Dutch publication prize in 2007. He actively engages in research projects related to corporate governance and law discourse analysis.
