Dr. Stiffan Djami

Biography

Stiffan Djami is currently pursuing a PhD in Philosophy at the School of Social Sciences, The University of Western Australia. He was a distinguished recipient of the Indonesia Endowment Fund Education, commonly known as LPDP Scholarship, awarded by the Ministry of Finance Indonesia. Before his doctoral studies, he earned a Master of International Trade and Development from the University of Adelaide during the academic year 2016-2017. Stiffan has a background as a diplomat and foreign service officer for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, beginning his career in world diplomacy in 2014 with a posting at the Indonesian Embassy in the Slovak Republic and serving there until 2023. Prior to joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he worked in television, radio, and banking. His current research focuses on critical debates around the complex dynamics of environmental sustainability in global trade, emphasizing the impact of sustainability frameworks on international trade dynamics, global value chains, market access, and export competitiveness. Stiffan's work contends that field research is essential to contribute to the ongoing debate on balancing trade and sustainability, linking his expertise to the UN Sustainable Development Goals established in 2015.
