Dr. Stoyan Tanev

Biography

Stoyan Tanev is an Associate Professor in Entrepreneurship at the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University. He holds multiple degrees, including an MSc in Physics from Sofia University, a PhD in Physics from University Pierre Marie Curie, an MEng in Technology Management from Carleton University, an MA in Theology from the University of Sherbrooke, and a PhD in Theology from Sofia University. His scholarly work focuses on the fields of Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, specifically examining how entrepreneurs identify new opportunities and shape their businesses in competitive international markets. His current research emphasizes value propositions, particularly in technology-based start-ups, investigating how they can effectively communicate their value to new customers and ensure success in global markets. Through employing algorithms for topic modeling and text summarization, Tanev's research aims to uncover emerging themes in the domain of entrepreneurship. Additionally, he highlights the growing importance of effective communication in articulating customer value and emphasizes the role of language in the innovation process.
