Dr. Stuart Hastings

Biography

Stuart Lachlan Hastings is a Lecturer in Anaesthesia at Monash University. He holds an MBBS with Honors and is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA). His medical practice includes a wide array of surgical specialties, particularly in anaesthetising patients for cardiothoracic and transplant surgeries. In addition, he has interests in high-risk patients undergoing non-cardiac surgeries such as upper gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary procedures, as well as cosmetic, reconstructive, plastic, neurosurgical, orthopedic, trauma, obstetric, and gynecological surgeries. He completed his undergraduate medical degree at Monash University and his anaesthetic training at the Alfred Hospital, where he continues to serve as a Staff Specialist Consultant Anaesthetist. He is committed to ongoing professional development through programs provided by the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and has pursued further postgraduate studies, including a Diploma in Perioperative Transoesophageal Echocardiography and a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Teaching from Melbourne University. His research efforts focus on cardiothoracic anaesthesia, transplant anaesthesia, and various surgical specialties.
