Biography

Stuart Hyde is a Professor of Finance and currently serves as the Head of the Division of Accounting and Finance at the Alliance Manchester Business School. He has been with the School since September 2000, starting as a lecturer in Finance and later promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2005 and Professor in February 2011. Stuart's prior experience includes a role as a lecturer at the University of Newcastle, where he earned his PhD, and the Chair of Economics at the Central Bank of Malta from 2012 to 2018. He has held visiting lecturer positions at the University of Melbourne and worked as a research fellow at the Institute of International Integration Studies at Trinity College Dublin. His research interests focus on empirical finance, particularly in international finance and emerging markets, analyzing asset pricing, return predictability, and market microstructure. He has supervised numerous PhD and DBA students, guiding them through topics related to international finance and market dynamics. Stuart is also active in editorial roles for several finance journals and has presented at various international conferences, contributing to discussions on financial crises and market behavior.
