Biography

Stuart J. Murray is a Professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at Carleton University. He holds a B.A. Hons. from the University of Toronto, an M.A. from the University of London, a M.Phil. from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, and both an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. His research interests encompass rhetoric, ethical studies, biopolitics, bioethics, critical theory, media, and medical humanities. His work includes analyzing the ethical dimensions of healthcare in correctional settings and exploring the implications of HIV treatment as prevention within sociocultural contexts. Murray has also contributed as a keynote speaker at various international conferences and is active in several academic committees and initiatives that foster interdisciplinary research.
