Biography

Dr. Su-Min Lee’s research interests include biology of dental stem cells, regeneration of dental pulp, dental tissue engineering, and biomaterials in Endodontics. Her focused research demonstrates the availability and delivery of mesenchymal stem cells in root canal systems and the correlation of intracanal bleeding with clinical outcomes. She conducts in vitro and in vivo studies regulating the inflammatory niche and optimizing the immunomodulatory function of resident dental pulp stem cells to suppress inflammation and guide tissue regeneration in dental pulpitis. Dr. Lee has been involved in various teaching and clinical roles at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine since 2015 and is currently the Assistant Professor of Endodontics and Interim Director of the Predoctoral Endodontics Program. She has received multiple awards for her contributions to the field, including the Young Investigator Award from the International Association of Dental Research. Dr. Lee actively reviews for several journals including the Journal of Endodontics and the Journal of Dental Research.
