Biography

Su Thae Hnit completed a Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) in 2013 and a Doctor of Philosophy (Science) in 2018 at Western Sydney University, Australia. After graduation, Su was offered a Postdoctoral position in the Cancer Biology Group led by Professor Qihan Dong at the Greg Brown Laboratory within the Central Clinical School at the University of Sydney. In 2022, Su Thae Hnit was appointed as a Research Teaching Fellow at the School of Natural Science in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Macquarie University. Su's research interests revolve around identifying plant medicine chemical components capable of impeding cancer cell proliferation for treatment and prevention of cancer. Su is actively involved in detecting small extracellular vesicles for breast cancer diagnosis and treatment monitoring in collaboration with the Nanosensor Group led by Professor Yuling Wang. Additionally, Su serves as a Unit Convenor for Analysis and Measurement of Biomolecules and is involved in teaching Advanced Analysis Measurement courses.
