Dr. Subha Das

Biography

Subha R. Das is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Carnegie Mellon University. He received his Ph.D. from Auburn University in 2000 and has held multiple academic positions at Carnegie Mellon University, including Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, University of Chicago. His research primarily focuses on Organic Chemistry and the chemistry of nucleic acids, including DNA and RNA. His work involves the development of nucleic acid-polymer hybrids and nanobiotechnology, using innovative techniques such as click-chemistry for labeling and the design of functionalized DNA nanostructures. He is also involved in science education, emphasizing the communication of chemistry concepts through practical applications such as cooking.
