Dr. Subhas Mukhopadhyay

Biography

Subhas Mukhopadhyay is a Professor of Mechanical/Electronic Engineering at Macquarie University, Australia, where he also serves as the Discipline Leader for the Mechatronics Engineering Program and Director of International Engagement within the School of Engineering. His research interests encompass a wide range of fields, including Sensors and Sensing Technology, Instrumentation, Wireless Sensor Networks, the Internet of Things, Mechatronics, Robotics, and Drones. Mukhopadhyay has authored or co-authored 14 patents, 10 books, and over 450 papers published in international journals and conference proceedings, establishing himself as a significant contributor to his field. He has edited numerous conference proceedings and special issues for leading journals, and he has served in various editorial roles, including as the Topical Editor for the IEEE Sensors Journal and Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurements. Furthermore, he is a founding chair of the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society New South Wales Chapter, and has held the title of Distinguished Lecturer for the IEEE Sensors Council from 2017 to 2022. Mukhopadhyay's extensive experience also includes organizing international conferences and delivering keynote speeches, solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in engineering and technology research.
