Subramanian Ramamoorthy holds a Personal Chair in Robot Learning and Autonomy at the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh, where he also serves as the Director of the Institute of Perception, Action and Behaviour. From 2017 to 2020, he acted as Vice President for Prediction and Planning at FiveAI, a UK-based startup that develops technology for autonomous vehicles, and continues to be involved with the company as a Scientific Advisor. His research focuses on robot learning and decision-making under uncertainty, with a particular emphasis on achieving safe and robust autonomy in human-centred environments. He has attracted funding from various sources, including EPSRC, European Commission (FP7, H2020), DARPA, DSTL, and RAEng, and is the Principal Investigator of the UKRI Research Node on Trustworthy Autonomous Systems Governance and Regulation.
