Biography

Subramanyam Ragupathy is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Guelph in the College of Biological Science, specifically within the Department of Integrative Biology. Ragupathy has addressed issues regarding the mislabeling of botanical ingredients in food products and natural health products by developing molecular diagnostics that authenticate species and ingredients. He actively collaborates on the development of policies relating to international trade in botanical products, emphasizing product authentication and certification standards. As a co-director of the newly established Natural Health Products Research Alliance at the University of Guelph, he co-developed Tru-ID, which establishes new industry standards for natural ingredient identification and authentication.
