Biography

Sudaxshina Murdan is a pharmacist and pharmaceutical scientist specializing in the formulation of drugs and vaccines for humans, fish, poultry, and livestock. Her research focuses on mucosal vaccination through oral and sublingual routes to elicit immunity at mucosal surfaces, addressing portals of infection. A key area of her current project is the development of antifungal medicines, particularly for the topical treatment of nail fungal infections, which involves printing medicaments directly onto diseased nails. Sudaxshina teaches pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences to both undergraduates and postgraduates, and has developed innovative pedagogical tools utilizing object-based learning with medicinal objects. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is dedicated to linking research with teaching by training students to become vaccination champions through the development of interfaith interventions to increase vaccine acceptance and uptake. In addition to her research and teaching responsibilities, Sudaxshina serves as the Faculty of Life Sciences Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Lead and is a Green (Sustainability) Champion.
