Biography

Sue Foster is a lecturer and clinical instructor in the BSN program at the University of British Columbia School of Nursing. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 1992 and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in 1995, both from UBC. With a strong focus on public health nursing, her recent work has centered around child and youth populations, advocating for youth-friendly healthcare services. She has a background in acute care, having worked at St. Paul’s Hospital from the late 1980s to the early 1990s. Sue collaborated with the North Shore Public Health team on research to measure public health nurses' practice in school settings, leading to the adoption of the Minnesota Model for regional public health nursing. In recognition of her contributions, she received the UBC School of Nursing Centenary Medal of Distinction in 2019.
